A simple lighting setup that makes any stream look pro
One key light, one fill and a background accent — the three-point setup that flatters on camera without a studio.
Good light does more for stream quality than any camera upgrade. The goal is soft, even light on your face and a little separation from the background.
Key, fill, accent
- Key light: a soft source at 45° to your face
- Fill: a weaker light on the opposite side to soften shadows
- Accent: a colored light behind you for depth
Common mistakes
Avoid a single harsh overhead light, and avoid a bright window behind you — the camera exposes for the window and leaves you in the dark.
